Erg-A-Thon 2024

Rowing Club at MTU competing at Head of the Grand 2023

Seven days, 1,402,000 meters, twenty-two rowers, and a fundraising goal of $2,700 the team was ready for March 17th to arrive. We hit the ground running that day with 8 donations coming in. On that day, 6 rowers started to countdown the meters rowing a total of 70,086 meters (5% of the goal). The next day, 18 rowers completed over 261,700 meters, totalling to be at 23.7% of our goal. Continuing on strong, 18 rowers continued on with 236,237 meters rowed bringing us almost half way at 40.6% completed. Wednesday, day 4, we hit over half way at 57.4% completed with 236,059 meters being rowed that day. Day 5 we rowed 246,911 meters putting us at 75% of the way done. Day 6 started to slow down with more and more rowers reaching their goal. That day, only 146,937 meters were rowed between 13 rowers bringing us to 85.5% of the way to our goal. On the last day, Saturday March 23rd, 12 rowers finished us off by going 227,267 meters to bring us 101.2% of our goal! This totaled to 1,425,248 meters, which was 23,248 meters over our original goal!

With totalling over 32 donations, we surpassed our original fundraising goal of $2,700 by $1,000. With the total of donations being $3,709.75, we are able to purchase a new 4+ boat to make us more competitive this upcoming season. Thank you to all the alumni, family and friends for all your generous support for our club through this fundraiser. It really means the most to us that you continue to help our club grow!
